Harrisburg, the state capital of Pennsylvania, is rich with culture including: art galleries, independant film venues, theaters, dance companies, a nationally known jazz organization, jazz venues and a resident symphony orchestra. Opera is no exception. Located in downtown Harrisburg, HOA is the resident opera company of the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and has mounted over 45 productions with emerging young performers as well as seasoned veterans from opera companies including the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera and New York City Opera.
